I love snow shoeing and the snow we have gotten this winter, but for many people, this might be the feeling they have. January was one of the snowiest on record for our area. Get out in and play, or if you were the one, tone it down a little.
It is the First Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, NY at the corner of Mill and Market Streets. It always has the best signs. The foreground is a low wall that adjoins the sidewalk, but the clearing of the sidewalk has created this mound. The background shows the Poughkeepsie Journal Building and spire.
This is going viral. Put it up on Facebook this morning, and it has been making the rounds. Let's see where it ends up. If you got this picture from a different source, e-mail me, as I would be interested on how it got around. A future topic here will be posting, copyright, and other practices.
But get out in the snow and enjoy it while we have it.
Bill
PS: I emailed Spencer Ainsley of the Poughkeepsie Journal with this Photo. He shot it from the other side and it is in the Poughkeepsie Journal on February 2, 2011, and it was picked up on AP and featured in the NY Times article on 2/2/11 on line. The Church's message is getting around.
